Andrew Scheer, Leader of the Opposition has condemned the slave trade and human trafficking going on in Libya.

The leader of the Conservative Party and Member of Parliament described the sale of immigrants fleeing their homeland but trapped in Libya on their route to Europe as appalling.

He noted that it was disgusting to know people could still do this to one another in the 21st century.

“I will commit to doing everything I can as opposition leader to make sure the federal government pays attention to the issue of Libya and human trafficking around the world,” he noted.

One of the solutions to this problem is dealing with the radical ideologies making some people flee their homeland.

“That is the reason why the Conservative Party is always supportive of efforts to destroy ISIS and to destroy radical groups that impose their radical ideologies on people,” said Andrew Scheer.
