May 27, 2017 Toronto –

The Conservative Party of Canada is in a good standing to defeat the ruling Liberal Party come the next election, says Rona Ambrose – former interim leader of the party while addressing party stalwarts at the Leadership Convention.

The interim leader who took over the leadership of the party after the conservatives were defeated, and lost many seats in the House of Commons in the 2015 parliamentary elections got a lot of cheers and standing ovation from the audience as she described the achievements of the Conservative Party since the defeat.

Rona Ambrose ran for the leadership race but could not get the top ticket.

She was very proud of the recovery of the party noting that over 250,000 new paying members have been registered.

The former interim leader did not spare the Libéral Party in her criticisms of how the country is being run.

She mentioned some ethical issues confronting the Liberal Party including the $125, 000 family vacation of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to a private Island and the accumulation of huge debts.
